This is how much UAE police officers earn    The police officer's job in the UAE involves a lot of hard work and risk. The officers have to ensure the citizens' safety and always be on their toes. The Federal Decree No. (40) of 2008 gives an idea of the income of police and security force staff members in the UAE. They can earn via salaries, bonuses and allowances. If the employees use the lodging provision, 20 per cent of the complementary bonus is deducted monthly. The force members have telephone allowance and periodic bonuses as well. Officers from the rank of brigadier and above can get an annual bonus equal to six per cent of their base salary as of January 1 of each year. "We're beginning to roll out 'Find Wi-Fi' everywhere in the world on iPhone and Android. We launched it in a handful of countries last year and found it's not only helpful for people who are travelling or on-the-go, but especially useful in areas where cellular data is scarce," Alex Himel, Engineering Director at Facebook, wrote in a blog post late Friday. India again seeks consular access to Jadhav, Ansari    India on Saturday again sought consular access to its nationals Kulbhushan Jadhav, who was sentenced to death by a Pakistani military court on alleged espionage charges, and Hamid Nehal Ansari, an Indian engineer and businessman who was sentenced to three years in jail for entering Pakistan. "India again requested Pakistan to grant full and early consular access to the Indian nationals lodged in the custody of Pakistan, including Hamid Nehal Ansari and Kulbhushan Jadhav," the External Affairs Ministry said in a statement. Venus Williams sued over Fla. car crash that killed 78-year-old  Venus Williams is being sued for her role in a tragic car accident that left a woman injured and her 78-year-old husband dead. Passenger jet catches fire after landing on runway    The engine of a SkyWest passenger jet caught fire moments after the aircraft landed at Denver International Airport on Sunday, but all 63 people aboard exited the plane safely, an airline spokeswoman said. The twin-engine Bombardier CRJ700, operated as a United Express commuter flight from Aspen to Denver, made a normal landing at about 2:20pm. local time and was on the taxiway before the flight crew was alerted to the fire electronically, SkyWest spokeswoman Marissa Snow said. Dead Indian guru will remain in freezer      An Indian court has granted permission for the followers of a long-dead spiritual guru to preserve his body in a freezer. Ashutosh Maharaj, founder of the sect "Divya Jyoti Jagriti Sansthan" (Divine Light Awakening Mission), died of a suspected heart attack in January 2014. But his followers insist he is only meditating deeply, and will one day return to life. They have kept his body in a commercial freezer at his vast ashram in Punjab. Child in Germany brings World War II bomb into kindergarten      A child in Germany sparked the evacuation of a kindergarten on Wednesday by unearthing a World War II bomb and bringing it back to the classroom, police said. The youngster “found an incendiary bomb on a walk in the woods and carried it into the kindergarten,” a police spokeswoman in the western city of Darmstadt said. “After the strange object was spotted on a shelf, the teachers immediately notified police and took the children to a playground off site,” she added.
